What is Rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty is a "nose job." There are many ways to improve your nose - from removing a "bump" on the top to re-shaping the tip to make it more narrow. The best way to find out what is best for you is to make an appointment with Dr. K. Roxanne Grawe at the Columbus Institute of Plastic Surgery today!
What are the benefits of Rhinoplasty?
Your nose is the very center of your face and often the first thing people notice about you. Rhinoplasty can reshape your nose to give you the look you have always dreamed of. If you have trouble breathing, this can be improved at the same time. At your consultation, Dr. Grawe will do an external and internal exam to decide the best changes to make for you.
How long does it take to recover from rhinoplasty?
After a week, you will return to the Columbus Institute of Plastic Surgery to get your splints removed. Most of the swelling will go away in about a month but there will be a tiny bit of swelling that stays around for about a year. You may have black eyes from the surgery and this will get better in about a week - you can usually return to work at that time.
What does a Rhinoplasty procedure involve?
Usually, Dr. Grawe at the Columbus Institute of Plastic Surgery will have you go all the way to sleep for a rhinoplasty. She will then make a scar on the bottom of your nose and inside your nose. The bone and cartilage will be reshaped and you will wake up with a splint on the top of your nose and one inside your nostrils. This will help keep the swelling down and shape the nose properly as it heals.
How long can I expect the results to last?
When Dr. Grawe performs your rhinoplasty - you will have results that last a lifetime! You would only need surgery again if you wanted something else about your nose to change. Visit www.instituteplasticsurgery.com for before and after pictures.
